Editorial Policy
This page sets out how the pages on The KF Menu are sourced, written and kept current. It is the standing answer to the question every reference site should be able to answer: why should a reader trust this figure?
Sourcing, in order
Nutrition figures (calories, protein, carbohydrate, fat, sodium, sugar and declared allergens) come from KFC’s official published nutrition guide. Reference prices come from KFC’s app and website listings on the review date shown on each page. Facts about programs and policies (Rewards, delivery, gift cards, the survey, the Restaurant Meals Program) come from KFC’s own press releases, the vendors that run those programs, the parent company and federal agencies, and each guide lists its sources at the foot of the page. Where an official figure does not exist, the page either computes it from published components with the arithmetic visible, or states an estimate as a range and says so. Figures from other menu sites are never used.
Verdicts and grades
Where a page says one item is better value than another, the statement comes from the computed data on that page, and the formula behind every grade is published on the price methodology page. Taste is a jury question and the pages say so; price, calories, protein and sodium are not. Where the site’s figures differ from another source, the page says why rather than pretending the disagreement does not exist.
Dates and updates
Every page carries the date its data was last reviewed. Prices are re-checked against the app and website on each review and every move is logged on the price change log with the old figure, the new figure and the date. Items that leave the national menu are not deleted: their pages stay up, marked as not on the current national menu, with the last listed price and full nutrition, and renamed items point to their successors. Limited-time and regional items are marked as such.
Independence
The KF Menu has no relationship with KFC Corporation or Yum! Brands, takes no payment for coverage, placement or verdicts, and sells no sponsored content. If advertising appears on the site, it is distinguishable from editorial content and does not influence a figure, a grade or a recommendation. Links to official KFC and vendor pages are provided for verification and carry no commission.
Corrections
Errors are corrected on the page, the review date is updated, and price corrections appear in the public change log. The corrections policy has the process and the contact page is the route.
